The Friendswood ISD Education Foundation (FEF) is hosting its second restaurant night on Wednesday, Jan. 27. The restaurant night is a fundraiser where participating restaurants pledge 10-20 percent of all sales from the night to FEF. Center Court Pizza & Brew, Gina’s Italian Kitchen, Good Vibes Burgers & Brews, Lowens Seafood, Masa Sushi and Rancho Mexican Grill are the restaurants participating in this month’s fundraiser.
“We are very excited to be hosting this second giveback event,” FEF Executive Director Ashley Adair said. “Being able to partner with local businesses in a way that is mutually beneficial furthers FEF’s mission to create meaningful relationships that help us provide innovative and engaging learning opportunities for the students of FISD.”
FEF Board Member Brandon Kinsey agreed in saying he is excited to build new community relationships and grow FEF’s ability to impact innovative learning in FISD.
“It is a huge bonus to positively impact our local restaurants who have been so heavily impacted during the pandemic,” Kinsey said.
FEF’s inaugural restaurant giveback in November with Center Court Pizza & Brew, Lowens Seafood and Rancho Mexican Grill generated a total donation of $870.
Cody Miller with Center Court Pizza & Brew and Lowens Seafood said he participated because he believes in investing in the younger generation.
“We want the very best for the kids growing up in our community,” Miller said. “We want to give them every opportunity to succeed.”
The event proved to be a huge success for all parties as each restaurant reported seeing a 25-30 percent increase in sales the night of the giveback. Adair said she feels confident that the January event will prove to be even more successful than November’s giveback.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to expand our restaurant night to include six businesses,” Adair said. “The variety in cuisine offers something for everyone, be it an after-practice snack, happy hour, date night or to-go order. Most importantly, when someone supports one of these local businesses, they are also supporting the students of FISD.”
