FEF Awards More Than $342,000 in Grants to FISD Teachers at SurPrize Patrol

The Friendswood ISD Education Foundation (FEF) wrapped up its annual Adopt-A-Grant Campaign on Friday, Apr. 29 with a record-breaking SurPrize Patrol that awarded more than $342,000 in grants to FISD teachers.

“I’ll never forget my first SurPrize Patrol,” FEF Director Suzanne Banfield said. “The excitement is contagious and this year was no exception.”

Over 30 Foundation board members and Adopt-A-Grant donors loaded up on the SurPrize Patrol bus and headed out for a pep rally-style celebration on each campus led by the Friendswood High School drumline.

“SurPrize Patrol is absolutely my favorite day,” FEF Board President Molly Crow said.”

The event is a fun celebration of the grants funded at each campus, the teachers that dreamed them up, and the students they will impact.

“This is the best day of the year for teachers in FISD,” Westwood Kindergarten Teacher Maegan Millet said. “Thank you for reminding us of our why!”

Many teachers shared how exciting it was to dream big and see those dreams come to life with the support of the community. SurPrize Patrol is a powerful display of how much the Friendswood community believes in and rallies around FISD students and teachers.

“This community outdoes itself every year and the support for our teachers and students is amazing,” Crow said.

The Foundation would like to extend a huge thank you to all of their Grant Writers, Grant Champions, Campus and District Purchasers and Approvers. FEF's Adopt-A-Grant campaign would not be possible without each of these individuals.
