The FJH Anime Club is a welcoming space for students of all grade levels to get to know each other through their shared interest in anime.  Come join us for discussions, art, and viewings of age appropriate anime.

Students meet weekly on Fridays from 4:00 - 5:00 in Mr. Estes' classroom, #5106

Students are encouraged to come play games in the morning before school.  This time is used to relax, make new friends, and/or work on social problem solving skills.  Students meet on Wednesday mornings at 8:00 am in the MMC

The cheerleading squad at Friendswood Junior High consists of an eligible group of students devoting most of their time to promoting school spirit, supporting our athletes, and serving as model students around our campus. They appear at games, parades, pep rallies, and many more events throughout the year. The competitive squad represents FJH at several area competitions, as well as NCA Nationals in Dallas. As disciplined athletes, FJH Cheerleaders are devoted, energetic, and responsible for FJH’s upbeat spirit!

The Friendswood Junior High Cadet Color Guard introduces students to the art of color guard through focused training in movement, equipment, and performance.  Cadets perform during the fall season and compete in the spring, with two rehearsals each week.  This program provides a supportive environment that prepares students for success in the Friendswood High School Color Guard.

The DND Club gives students a fun and inclusive space to work together on imaginative adventures, building creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through storytelling an collaborative gameplay.

To build a collaborative environment to foster and create a positive community through the shared interest of Story Telling.

This is a club for those students interested in the medical field.  Students will meet one Friday a month.  Start date is to be determined.

The National Junior Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognized outstanding junior high students. It is more than just an honor roll as the NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. The organization was founded in 1929, and is a “junior” version of the high school’s National Honor Society. Requirements include, but are not limited to maintaining a scholastic average of 90+, remain active in at least one school or community activity, and attendance at monthly meetings.

FJH Robotics Club is an exciting opportunity for students interested in exploring technology and engineering. While we would love for all students to participate in the robotics team, please note that we have a limited number of spaces available for each grade level. There will be an informational meeting in late September/early October, at which students can apply to join. Our team will practice after school on Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:30 PM. Students will need to be picked up at 5:30 PM in front of the school by the flagpole. The date of the robotics competition is TBA. Students who are invited to join will receive more information after the application process.

FJH Student Council is an open invitation student leadership organization. The club is responsible for hosting many fun events, like Decorating a Float & Riding in the FISD Homecoming Parade, Red Ribbon Week, Trick or Treating for Canned Goods, Holiday of Hope Toy Drive, Christy’s Wish Bingo Night, and the February Social.  Our group encourages student leadership in schools and communities, and empowers young adults to use these skills throughout their lives.

Our UIL Academic competition is open for 7th and 8th graders who would like to compete academically. “The events are designed to complement and expand upon what students learn in the classroom, both through learning specific subject knowledge, and through learning skills that are valuable in many disciplines.” Starting in early December students may sign up for the team.   Our team will practice after school on the Thursdays from 4:00 -5:10 PM starting in January.  Students will need to be picked up at 5:10 PM in the front of the school by the flagpole. The date of the actual meet is TBA. Students who sign up will then receive more information at our first practice.

"Yearbook is an application based elective course during a student's 7th or 8th grade year. They participate in the process of creating the yearbook through teamwork, photography, marketing, and graphic design. There are time requirements outside of school to make sure all student events and activities are covered.
